Letter from Dean Wynne and Dave Miedema

Dave Miedema, ‘76 CGPA, Director of Development, UND?School of Medicine and Health Sciences, UND Foundation; and Joshua Wynne, MD, MBA, MPH
UND Vice President for Health Affairs
Dean, UND?School of Medicine and Health Sciences
Dear Alumni and Friends,

We extend special thanks to all who contributed to the School of Medicine and Health Sciences through the UND Foundation this past fiscal year ending June 30, 2011. Your meaningful support is both necessary and deeply appreciated as we strive to move the School from excellent to exceptional!
“North Dakota Spirit—The Campaign for UND” continues with unprecedented success. With just over two years remaining in this eight-year, $300 million campaign for the University of North Dakota, nearly $230 million has been committed by alumni and friends from across the globe in support of UND’s exceptional people, places, and programs. Thank you for being a part of this truly historic effort!

The North Dakota Spirit Campaign’s goal for the School of Medicine and Health Sciences is $35 million. We are pleased to share that after including $766,553 committed this past fiscal year, we have recorded a six-year total of $23,274,398 in gifts, moving us toward nearly 70 percent of our stated goal. This impressive Campaign total comprises annual contributions, pledges, and deferred gift arrangements of various types. All of these gifts offer certain tax benefits, but above all, donors enjoy the satisfaction of supporting a superior, community-based medical and health sciences school that is especially vital to maintaining the good health of the citizens of North Dakota. For specific information about how the School of Medicine and Health Sciences works to educate students, discover new knowledge, and serve North Dakota, please read the School’s 2011 community report Vital Signs, which is available online at: http://bit.ly/oJ43ok. Limited print copies are available by contacting Kristen Peterson at (701) 777-4305 or kristen. peterson@ med.und.edu.

We extend our sincere “Thank you” to those donors who are listed in this Honor Roll. Your valued support helps us fulfill our mission of teaching, research, and service.
