Jessica Sobolik named director at UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences

Jessica SobolikDean Joshua Wynne has named Jessica Sobolik director of the Office of Alumni and Community Relations at the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She will work in conjunction with the UND Foundation Director of Development Dave Miedema to foster relationships with alumni of the SMHS, including medical doctor, bioscience and allied health programs. Sobolik joined Assistant Director Denis MacLeod and Assistant to the Director Shelley Pohlman in the Office.

A native of Larimore, Sobolik earned a Bachelor of Arts in Print Journalism from UND in 2002. For three consecutive years, she won All-American honors in track and field while at UND. Sobolik lives in Grand Forks with her husband Ryan.

Sobolik was associate director of communications and online engagement for the UND Alumni Association. She has previously worked for Northern Fitness Magazine, BBI International, the Fargo Forum and the Grand Forks Herald.

“It’s an exciting time to join the School of Medicine and Health Sciences,” said Sobolik. “The School will help address the shortage of rural medical professionals in the coming years, there’s a new dean at the helm and the nation has a new health care bill to decipher. I look forward to coming on board and getting to know the alumni.”
